Winter 2019 programming is ready for you to engage!
Sunday Morning Adult Education:
The Rock, the Road, and the Rabbi Bible study lead by John and Cleta Knoebel will begin on February 10 at 9:30am in the choir room. This is a six week DVD study with discussion. We begin in Bethlehem with the birth of Jesus, and finish in Jerusalem with Christ’s crucifixion and resurrection. The filming was done in Israel and is taught by Kathy Lee Gifford and Rabbi Jason Sebel, a Messianic Jewish Rabbi. The book is optional.
Class discussion of The Apocrypha and Minor Prophets – Wisdom @ 9:30am- This Bible study is scheduled for the Martin Luther Library at 9:30am. This Bible study meets the 1st, 3rd, and 5th Sunday of the month. More information to come.
Artful Prayer will meet at 9:30am in C1 Artful prayer is a meditative approach to each individual person’s spirituality through guided imagery, drawing in small mandalas (circles) and/or writing on what has come during the meditation. The process consists of a short reading, poem, verse of hymn, etc, followed by 12 minutes of silent meditation (with background music), and then 12 minutes or so of drawing/writing in silence. No one is required to share their thoughts or drawings. No drawing skills required. For more information contact Jane Bergo.
Small Group/Support Group:
Balanced -Program focused on improving safety, strength, flexibility, and balance. Exercise and balance activities will be performed seated, standing, and may include walking and light strength training in the Sanctuary. Participants are asked to wear comfortable clothes and bring a water bottle. BALANCED will be offered in an 8-week session with classes meeting weekly in the church sanctuary on Tuesday mornings from 9:30-11:00 AM. Next session starts February 19. Fit4God – We will meet on Thursday evenings at 6pm in the Martin Luther Library. Join us as we journey toward healthy living in honor of God with weekly weigh ins, bible study and support and encouragement. For more information contact Diana Heerdt.
Katie’s Table – This Women’s Bible Study Mondays at 6:30pm in the Martin Luther Library. Seamless, Understanding the Bible as One Complete Story by Angie Smith. Inspired: Join Stacie Dichsen and Pastor Candice for a Bible study featuring the book, “Inspired,” by Rachel Held Evans.What is the Bible? Is it science? Is it history? Neither? Both? Let’s revisit it together and find new meaning in the old stories of our faith. 4 Mondays of February (4, 11, 18, 25) from 6-7pm in the Choir Room. Childcare is available upon request. Please purchase the book ahead of class or talk to Pr Candice about getting a copy.
Men’s Bible Study – Our men continue to meet every Wednesday at 6:00am at IHOP in O’Fallon to have breakfast and study the upcoming Gospel lesson.
